Florence
East Village Pet Boarder
I joined Katie’s Kitty in April 2022, but I’ve been an animal lover my whole life. I became an avid birder at 7 with my mother. At 8, my brother and I rescued a beautiful Shetland Sheepdog from the streets, and he became our beloved family dog. We also had a Guinea pig and three chameleons. And when I went to college at 18, I rescued a cat I named Lancelot. In my 20s, right after college, I sought part time work that was flexible, and a friend told me about dog walking and pet care services in Manhattan. I loved taking care of clients’ precious pets. They are all different, with different personalities and needs. No one size fits all.
I’ve had four cats of my own over the past 30 years, and each one was so different from the other―even a mother and daughter who looked almost identical could not have been more different. And our dear Serena and Sasha were beautiful Russian Blues that my husband and I adopted together.
In 2021 I began volunteering at the Wild Bird Fund and have helped take care of injured wild birds, in the hopes of returning them to their natural habitat. When I’m not taking care of injured wildlife, I work as an actor, and sometimes print model.
I live in the East Village with a loving husband who also loves animals, and we have been happily married for 22 years. I will offer your kitties a warm and loving home with playtime, brushes, and lots of attention.
