Ellie

Hi! My name is Ellie, and I am proud to work for Katie’s Kitty taking care of pets in Park Slope and the surrounding neighborhoods (South Slope, Greenwood, Gowanus, Ditmas Park and Red Hook). I was born and raised in the English countryside in a family of animal lovers, taking home my very first pet from a litter of kittens on the local farm at age five. Since then, I have always had cats in my life and would not have it any other way.

Having worked as social worker in England for 10 years before meeting my husband and moving to his home town of New York in 2015, I have now transitioned from taking care of people to taking care of cats! Upon arrival in NYC I immediately began fostering cats for Brooklyn Animal Action, joined Katie’s Kitty as a pet sitter soon after, and now also work part-time for a record label and at the Red Hook Winery. I am extremely grateful to be able to spend my time with all the things I love best―music, wine, and cats!

I have a wealth of experience caring for cats with medical needs, including those in recuperation post surgery, as well as those with behavioral issues and/or in need of socialization. I am experienced at administering medications and always consciously adapt my care to suit the personality of each individual kitty. If you entrust the welfare of your cats to me, rest assured in knowing that I always provide regular updates (including photographs), that your home will be respected and secure, and that your four-legged family members will receive plenty of attention and affection.
